My Review: 3 Stars
Thank you to Enchanted Book Promotions for an ARC, in exchange for an honest review. Well, the first thing I have to say is this is a book with a difference, I certainly have never read anything like it! I read it in two sittings, it would have been one if I never had to pause to sleep. I did enjoy the story line, I really enjoyed the way the story was delivered- first person from all characters. While reading this writing style allowed me to get up close to the characters, and experience their point of view. I always really enjoy this writing style. The book is well written too. I was engaged, engrossed from the first chapter and really wanted to know more! I was turning pages quickly!
However, what I would have liked is not so much repetition, as I read I found that what I read in one person’s POV was then retold (with no change) in the other person’s POV. It felt like I was reading the same thing twice quite often. Some readers may not notice. I found it did not move the story along quicker, or add to it as the POV was just the scene retold again with no change from another person. Secondly, this is an erotic thriller. There is a lot of sex, however the heat level of the sex (to me personally) was not high = erotica. From what I remember there was one position change in all the sex I read. ( I know I was hanging onto every word to remember this!) The sex also ( in my humble opinion) was not overly erotic/steamy/graphic. I never personally found kinks, toe curlers or anything high in heat that made me go ‘well, I be damned’. I would have liked the author to really bring the heat… steam up my e-reader! If this is erotica in the true form. Again some may find that frequent sex scenes= erotica, as a big erotica reader and lover I read a lot to me it’s not the frequency, it is the heat level/quality of the sex or even kinky things I have found with this genre that makes it erotic. This was pretty ‘vanilla’ as they say but that is just my interpretation. Thirdly, I would have loved to know more about the past, this is the second book so information on the hospital, and government involvement would have helped to beef up the thrill and excitement. I have not read book #1, but from what I understand each story can be read as a stand alone. As I read I found myself wanting backstory as I had questions.
Overall, I’m giving Girl Within Girl Book #2 Healing 3 stars as it was engaging, page turning, well written. That said at the same time for me the heat and back story could have added to my reading experience and enjoyment, to give probably a 4-5 star. I would read more from the author, as she clearly is talented and knows how to spin a thriller.

I’m a Cambodian woman of mixed blood, married to an aspiring author, and of course he had something to do with my idea to write entertaining fiction. We live in a little green house in the countryside in southern Cambodia. No kids yet, but we’re working on it.
I live on a large plot of land and I enjoy taking care of my trees, plants, and flowers. I also love embroidery, stitching to make beautiful pictures. It’s very meditative for me. And then I frame them and put them all over the walls of my house, which drives my husband crazy.
I’m a newbie when it comes to being an author, but being an avid reader with eclectic tastes (I enjoy reading just about any genre as well as non-fiction) has helped me in my plunge to write commercial fiction. Since I love erotic thriller type films, I decided to write an erotic thriller series. I like the challenge of devising a strong plot to embed my sexy scenes.
