My New Release: Exciting News! #amwriting #romance #amreading

Afternoon all,

It’s dark already and it is only 6:00p.m London time, autumn has truly set in. So, you probably remember I wrote a story for a anthology called Code Redhead- A Serial Novel,  with thirteen other great authors. My old publisher donated the sales revenue to charity for a year, I was thrilled to use my passion to write to help a charity cause and raise money for  cancer, this was in 2016 … remember? Good.  Well I checked my contact and it has expired, I’ve decided not to republish my work as a standalone under them, I now I have my rights back over my work. So what does this mean?… Instead  I will revamp this story a bit then it will be book #1 of another romance series I have in mind. e.g. my new release! As well as my  Romance Set In Paradise series, I want to write a some romance novellas set in cities around the world… more like ‘sin in the city’ to be exact,these stories will be a little steamy. 🙂

I was going to send my work out on query to other publishers and agents, then after some thought I realised  as it has already been published once (and I don’t plan to re-write the whole story I rather like it as it is, I’ll just expand it as the word limit all authors had for the anthology was only 13,000… tiny!) Most publishers won’t republish in this case, as some of it has already been published once… never mind I’m happy to do my own thing! This one will be a self-publish to kick off the series.

Right now, I looking for Beta Readers to add to my list I already have. I wish to send out a draft of this short steamy novella over the next few weeks, once I’ve combed over it, Beta Reader feedback  would be great. I am not a  touchy writer, ( which you probably know already if you have followed me for some time). I don’t need praise I need some honest feedback even if it’s “Kim this is shit… because.” I have thick skin,  so don’t think I want praise, I want honest feedback to better the reading experience, based on  your reading experience of the draft before publishing. That said if your feedback is ” Kim this is great,” then I’ll dust off my shoulders,  do a happy dance and continue to spin some sinful romance for this series.

My team and I are pleased to announce we’re now live! We are online with issue #1 . Our long term goal is an in print twice monthly format of CTM also. This month we have some interesting articles on parenting & families, sex & relationships, the writer’s life, fashion & beauty, health & well-being, bookish & author news and more! Each month we have a team focus called Conscious Thoughts, every one at CTM writes up their thoughts and response to some world event….. I’ve Landed A Job As A Magazine Editor… I’m Looking For Writers For Paid Work!! #amwriting #writerslife

If you’ve been connected with me for a while, you’ll know how much I believe in The Universe, fate and how us humans are supported by some unknown force. Earlier this month I said to myself, (and Didi) for that matter, how much I’d love to get back into magazine writing. I miss it,I used to contribute a few articles to a book, beauty and fashion section a while back. I also wrote about this kinda dream you could say, in my own journal this month.

Over the last twenty four hours the opportunity found me! The founder of the magazine was looking for an editor to take over, he connected with me on Facebook. What a surprise to land not only  paid writing work outside of blogging and novel writing ,but to be asked to be the actual chief editor. Madness… I can’t believe it myself, anyway, I signed a contact and I’m about to launch this baby with a team of warriors and talented writers! The only thing I ask is be yourself, but be damn good when writing work to submit for publication. I’ve renamed the magazine, and I plan on moving it in a new direction for a new bigger, more diverse readership.

I didn’t think a collection of short stories could flow so naturally between two authors, but Didi Oviatt and Kim Knight did just that.

I rated each short story on how much I would like for it to be written as a complete novel. Here’s my tally below that rounded to 4.25/5:

1. It Was The First Time I Killed A Man = 5 Stars (Think this may need more stars)
2. When He Ran His Hands Up My Thighs I… = 3.5 (I couldn’t get with the lovey dovey romance)
3. The Entrance To The Tunnel Is His Only Way Out = 4 (Ending was very unfortunate, but I had to laugh at what happened)
4. Every Time I Hear That Voice From My Basement = 4.5 (I need to know the ending’s outcome)
5. Femme Fatale = 5 (Badass Russian woman as MC; no further comment)
6. The Ones Who Live At The Bottom Of The Ocean, Come To The Surface = 5 (Just needs to continue)
6. Guilty As Charged, In Self-Defence. = 5+ (Let’s just say 7; that story was amazing)
7. It’s A Man’s Man’s World = 5 (Very emotional, easy to tear up even in that short of time)

wp_20170730_002.jpgNow it all feels even more real, to see my latest works in paperback, not just on Amazon in e-book. To feel it physically in my hand makes my heart race! Didi Oviatt and I done it!! Our debut work together  in one anthology all 50,000 odd words of it. So proud to have this author’s name on a cover with mine, she’s extremely talented and  a friendship has grown.  The covers look fantastic, even if I say so myself. Really chuffed with both books.  Didi and I will be back at the end of July… which is like next week! With Kim and Didi’s Suspenseful Collection spinning tales for you. I look forward to it.

Sunday Reading… What’s Your Nose Stuck in?? I’m Reading This #amreading @jack_binding

I have a lot of romance on my to read pile. I’m taking a break from it, so I can go back fresh and excited into my genre. I’m so excited about this British author’s work.  He is inspired by none other than the main man Stephen King himself so this should be good. I’ve got my Author Review Copy and I’m  starting today! Keep an eye out on Meet The Author, I’ve interviewed  Jack Binding  and all I’m saying is… I could not keep a straight face!!  You’ll love him. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone.

Jack Binding’s Pills splices gritty realism with surreal imagery and otherworldly dread.

From the vicious high fashion horror of FMM (The Devils Wears Prada via Bret Easton Ellis-esque debauchery) to the stark, unsettling heartbreak of Sleeping Pills, Binding takes the reader on a journey through the secret parts of London that few people ever visit.

Influenced by writers such as Stephen King, Martin Amis and JG Ballard, there’s Cronenberg-inspired body horror, creepy kids (and their creepier parents), death, love (often unrequited), seedy massage parlours and late nights fuelled with lust and narcotics.

With overarching themes and characters, the 18 short stories in Pills can be read either as a whole enjoyed as stand-alone tales.
