Three Day Quote Challenge: Day #2

25+ Stirring Muhammad Ali Quotes

I so  couldn’t decide what quotes to go with today for this challenge, I was torn between 4 of them, I ended up with these 2 in the end. Tomorrow I’ll battle between the other 2 for the final day of the challenge.

You have to believe in yourself! No one else may at first. This quote  from Muhammad Ali reminds me of this all the time. A great champion (with a big ego), he felt he was the best and went on to be so. I’m not saying we should all walk around with an ego the size of Big Ben  (London’s landmark clock tower)  …. but have belief you’ll be amazed what it can do for you.

NEW YEAR, NEW CHAPTER_ 20 Quotes About Life, Creativity and Travel ___

This is just the writer in me, who loves to write fictional stories using a lot of imagination to sometimes shock and grab a reader’s attention not everything I write is pretty and pink -especially in the crime genre, but it can be applied to life as well, why just go from A- B. Think outside the box? In doing so you may just become a more happier, successful, all round better person.

Today I nominate everyone who reads this to take part in the challenge.

Rules:

Thank the person who nominated you.

For the next 3 days post a meaningful quote.

MiracleChallenge week #6:#2 Poem-, Which Way is Heaven?

Cloud-Heaven

Write a poem using the below two prompt words: heaven and right

Short poem

Door 34 or door 64 which way should I head? I really need to use my head,

I look to the right this gives me a fright ,I see  stairs that go way up into the air,

I wonder what’s  up there?

I look to the left, I think this path is best left,

It doesn’t look like  a path that’s well kept,

Overgrown bushes, thorns and weeds, this is not the kind of path I need,

Which way to heaven???

Did  I miss it? Should I have taken a right, at gate  7 or what about  11?

A voice said Kim, this is it, use you female  initiation as  your map, please Kim try to avoid going back,

I have to go back, I’m looking for heaven   I think it was at gate number 7,

I don’t listen to the voice, in life we all have a choice! So I’m making mine I’m leaving this path behind,

I’m ganna head back  and take gate number  7, yes use my female intuition to help take me to heaven,

When I get to heaven, I  hope the gates will be open,

In my pocket I feel for it-  my token, the voice said it  will make the gates open,

Who will I see?

Standing on the right God, Amy Winehouse, Nelson Mandela, Prince, Micheal Jackson may be?

I’m turning back, using my female intuition  as my map, I’m making my way to gate number 7 I’m sure that’s heaven.

Three Day Quote Challenge: Day #1

quote 1

This quote really stayed with me the first time I saw it and heard it. I was experiencing a really tough time in life with decisions, this saying/quote/Scripture helped me keep going and not fear my future, I don’t fear it , I’m living it!… why because I am clothed in strength and dignity. And so should you feel you are whenever you are unsure of your future.

I’m not an overly religious person more spiritual that religious, but I really do respect all religions and that everyone (may)  have a different a god, or being they believe in to guide and protect them.

This biblical saying/quote/scripture  is one of #2 scriptures that I would like to have inked on me, and add to my (small) collection of discrete tattoos.   Tomorrow I will share #2.

Quote by Ray Bradbury

Three Day Quote challenge

“Your intuition knows what to write so get out of the way.”

Sometime you have to get out of your own head; stop rationalizing everything. Let your creative juices guide your pen.

Quote by Buffy Andrews

Three Day Quote Challenge 3

“Writers see the world differently. Every voice we hear, every face we see, every hand we touch could become story fabric.”

There’s a story everywhere. We can be inspired by a simple thing, a spectacular sunrise, the way someone smiles, a word, a phrase, a name. You’ll find a story behind everything.

Word Prompt Response: D.R.I.V.E

Drive      Write a response to today’s WordPress word writing prompt.

  1. ” To push, propel,  or press onward forceably ; urge forward.”
  2. ” To carry or urge along.”
  3. ” To repulse or put up a fight by force or influence.”

Just a few definitions I found in a dictionary for the word drive, I’ve learned a valuable lesson regarding this word. What drives one person or maybe 99% of the population eg the aim of achievement can demotivate another, on reflection I learned this in one particular relationship I had.

Sad but true, you as a person can be really motivated to achieve little goals you set yourself  as an individual and want to set little goals as a couple  sadly, your partner may see this as some kind of negative trait about you or your personality,  even go as far as believing that it’s  your drive that’s ruining  the  relationship…. How can a person feel that drive, motivation and caring about one’s path in life are bad traits or de- motivators for them personally? Is there such thing as being too ambitious?? … This is a rhetorical question, I gave up caring and trying to figure that one out a LONG time ago, right after I realised that this type of person will always be stuck in first gear in their life, so best to leave them to it.

I personally plan to stay driven! Not in a  competitive way but to have an idea of what it is I’d like to work towards, or what it is I do or do not need, get my ass into gear and do it. I’ve learned as a person I have more than first gear in me if need be.

Drive is important, drive should be what keeps us going when times are tough and life is not always on our side rather than just give up, and it’s certainly something that I want my son to understand in life; just how important drive is. In order to have drive and stay focused I’ve learned a good starting point is:

Determination- so you stay driven  to do whatever it is you set out to do and and get from A- B.

Resilience- so you can handle knock backs or possibly a  change of direction in your goals.

Intelligent ways of working- so that time does not slip away and you achieve nothing!

Vision- to know where you’re going and why you’re heading there. I’ve always believed that failing to plan is a sure plan to fail.

Experience- learning along the way helps shape what you do and how you continue to do it… if at all if the experience taught you not to do it!

I like this word, D.R.I.V.E.

Writing Prompt Response: Journey Poem

Journey

Write a response to today’s WordPress writing prompt word: Journey.

I feel in a light hearted and poetic mood today, I’ve responded to word prompts  this week and last with  short stories, to words like darkness, negative thoughts, and darkside I just had to put a positive spin on today’s word  and lift my blog mood 🙂

Life’s a journey one that we should enjoy,

Life’s a journey one that we shouldn’t try to avoid,

Life’s a journey, which sometimes  means starting  all over from the beginning,

Life’s a journey one that we may not always keep winning,

But  it’s  in the beginning, and maybe when we ‘re not in the process of winning,

One can become a whole new and better human being!

Life then takes on a whole new meaning, when you evolve and realise you’re now a better human being, it is at this point you are winning!

Life will put you in some sticky situations, but it will always reward you with  a cause for celebrations.

Life, is  a journey, LIVE  it, LOVE it, don’t regret it!

Just be patient and take your time , make your own decisions using your own ”3rd ”eye every

Opportunity is one that should not be missed, when you come up against a brick wall and you feel like you’ve  lost it all, open your third ”eye” and see what else there is to be thankful for.

Under no circumstances be anyone’s fool, love everyone but  only trust a few.

Recognise when you’re being taught something  new to further and better you.

Never think you can not, you can just make sure that you have a solid plan, and then I promise you, you can.

Every day is a blessing, you’ve  woken  up and  can take a new breath, so this means your journey can and will  continue.

Years will pass you by, always keep reaching for the sky, your journey will never be straight forward People come, people go, love is here and then it is not but if you’ve paid attention as I’ve mentioned your journey will become better.  Always keep looking forward.

Word Prompt Response: Short Story

Cowardice

Scardy cat

Write a response to today’s WordPress writing prompt: Cowardice

Scaredy -Cat: Short  Sweet Story

Every morning Dina and Joanne walked past the old run down  house that belongs to Mrs Drew her husband had died a year ago and  rumours around Mrs Drew’s sanity started to fly around the small town. Everyone knew everyone and each other’s business rumours spread fast.

The house was sat set back from the main road, on its own with a creaky gate and large oak tree in the yard. Joanne at 10 years old thought she was the brave responsible one, she’d always pull her 6 year old mischievous  little sister Dina away from the gates, as she  tried to peer over into the garden of the old run down house on her tip toes.

” Come on Dina! What are you doing ? We’ll be late for school.”

” Don’t you want to see her, to know what old hag lady looks like now?”

” No way, leave her be she’s an old women grieving mama said now come on.’‘ Joanne  pulled her sister away from the gates by the scruff of her neck; her flimsy school  dress threatened to rip from her grip. Mama would be mad so she let go and grabbed Dina’s hand instead.

” I wanna see! I wanna see old hag lady at the window everyone says she’s scary and eats children for lunch.”

”I don’t believe that humans don’t eat each other it’s just rumours and people being nasty towards the old women, now come on.”

Joanne gave Dina’s hand a sharp tug. The pair walked off and left the old run down house  behind them. Skipping along ahead of her sister Dina  looked back at the house and became excited.

” I dare you Joanne, to go up to the house and knock on the door after school today!”

” No way! Why would I do that and disturb her, mama said she is grieving whatever that means but I guess it means don’t disturb an adult.”

” To prove you don’t believe the rumours you got to do it!”

”What do you mean?”

”Well if you don’t believe that she’s  a real witch  and that humans really eat each other then you’ll go right up to that house and knock on the door.”

” Yeah right Dina, and then do what when old hag lady opens up?”

”Ask her if she wants to buy some cookies.”

Dina fell in step with her older sister and grabbed her hand. Joanna looked down at her little sister, so fierce so bold and full of life at 6 years old. Her piercing blue eyes the colour of the ocean and fair blond hair in pig tails made her smile.

”No Dina, don’t be silly  it is not nice to believe rumours like I said she’s an old lady and that’s not how you prove that you’re not scared of something.”

”Scaredy-cat Scaredy-cat!”

” No I’m not!”

” Yes you are!”

” No I’m not!

” Prove it then…”

Dina let go of her older sister’s hand and skipped along the path ahead her pig tails bobbing behind her singing to herself.

” Humm I’ll show you whose a scaredy- cat” Joanne said to herself quietly.

After school the 2 girls walked along their familiar path on their way home, the sun beat down on them as the stood outside ”old hag lady’s” gate. Joanne peeked over and saw un –kept grass, rubbish and old furniture in the yard.

” Go on then.”

” Alright, alright hold on”

Joanne had a plan she opened the gate and walked up the path. As Joanne disappeared up the path she ducked into the un-kept bushes and opened the side gate leading back out on to the main road, she walked around the fence back towards Dina. Once at the corner she peeked around and saw her little sister tip toeing over the gate and heard her calling her name.

” Joanne, Joanne! Hurry I can’t see you, oh no what’s happened hag lady got her!”

Joanne crept around the corner behind her little sister as soon as she was close enough she swept Dina up in her arms.

” Mmmwaaah ha ha hag lady has come to get you, I want to eat you up!”

”No, no put me down!!”

Reduced to tears Dina screamed at the top of her lungs before she realised it was her sister.

” Now whose the scaredy -cat Dina!?”

” That’s not funny! That’s not nice! YOU SCARED ME”

” Neither is believing rumours that people in this town make up about others that’s not NICE or FUNNY. It could come back and bite you on the you know what as mama would say!”

”Told you I’m no scaredy -cat Dina”

Joanne skipped off happy with herself, Dina dried her tears and promised never to call her sister a scaredy-cat again she didn’t like being bitten on the you know what, that was no fun  her older sister’s jokes were scary not fun.
