I just discovered a new author I think I’m about to stalk on social media LOL.  I had no idea that Amazon have an ‘Amazon Original Stories’  series of short stories and novellas, by different authors until my publisher told me about it. Then, while searching for new  books to read on Kindle Unlimited this book popped up from the series. I thought why not? It’s a sign give it a read. I’m so glad I did give it a try. All books can be read in less than an hour, forty- sixty pages! I love them ‘bite sized reads’ sometimes.

Kim’s Review: 4 Really Enjoyable Stars

This story is book #2 of seven in the Amazon Original short story series, as I started to read I was really pulled in straight away by the story. The main character who is on the run, under her best friend’s ID really intrigued me. I must admit I had no idea where it was going or how it would end which I loved, it kept me reading. The story is mainly set over a period of probably twenty- four hours if that, with some flash back, and at  the motel she heads to. I enjoyed the writing style and story-telling,  it’s pretty fast paced, which I enjoyed also. It kept me turning pages, guessing, but at times also wondering ‘where’s the bang.’ It came right at the end LOL, in a  true ‘oh my gosh I never saw that coming style’, the author gives a very unexpected twist, that left me thinking deeply about what I had just read, and placing everything all together in my head. Overall, this is a short story that I thought was engaging, well written, and very gripping to read. The ending was for me the icing on the cake.

I would have loved more to this! I recommend it to all those who love thriller, mystery, suspense, and even paranormal stories. If you like quick reads too, this is a good choice. I feel that Sleep Tight Motel was an excellent introduction to this author’s work, and I have downloaded more of her books, and about to read the other six authors in the series. Overall I recommend Amazon Original Stories to check out if you like quick, short reads, mystery, thriller, and suspense. Free to read on Kindle Unlimited too at the  time of this review.
