Chapter Preview by Kim Knight Final Master

Bloggers, Reviewers & Book Clubs Wanted!

Ok, so my 1st  book is complete (as you know if you’ve been reading along on my blog), I’m now at the edit and submit stage. This is ticking along  nicely and each day I get more excited; I just wish I didn’t  have a day job so I  could spend all day working on this baby.

What I’m after now is to seek out any potential book bloggers, reviewers and book clubs who may be interested in reading  the first 3 chapters of my book, and giving their initial honest thoughts. If you like what you read, then I’ll  chuck in a free whole copy for you when it’s released. Is that you? If so keep reading.

My 1st book is a romance/ suspense story set in London, France (Paris and southern France) and the UK English coastal area, modern, exiting and I’d like to think engaging. Women all over the world of any age and race should be able to relate to my Heroine and Hero’s drama I’ve plot out for them, and no it’s not your average love triangle drama. (So she says). If you’re interested  post a comment below, or send me an email via the contact me page above. I’d love to hear from you.

While you’re here if you have not already why not sign up to follow my blog or Twitter account, so you can keep up to date on the future release (September 2016), gossip and interact with me I’d love to hear from you, yes you behind the PC.

Word Prompt Response: Circus

Circus

I’m not a fan of clowns, in fact they freak me out, I’m not a fan of people sticking knives down their throats for entertainment, in fact that to freaks me out! But I’m  a fan of the book ” The Night Circus” by  Erin Morgenstern. My whole reason for participating in today’s  word prompt challenge is to brag about this book I discovered about 2-3 years ago.

Where do I start it ? This book was  a whole game changer for me when it came to the fantasy and realism genre, a genre that I’ve never touched  in all the years I’ve been reading books. (That’s a lot of years by the way).

Don’t get me wrong I don’t dislike the genre I never have disliked it, I just never found a book in this genre to make me start devouring books of this genre. Part of me also (before I read this book ) was not hugely turned on by the thought of different worlds, magic and so forth.

Without giving too much away (as I want you to all to go and read it), in my opinion there’s a real sweet love story which underpins this fantasy/realism book, which could be part of the reason I also really really enjoyed it and gave it a 5 star review.

2 magicians  (with very different powers) are played off against each other by their masters/ teachers 1 male and 1 female. The reason for this goes back to past history between their masters, the 2 main characters they are destined to become opponents due to their master’s history. I was instantly drawn to the world of magic and trickery that the author  created within her writing from the very first chapter. It does take a bit of concentration and piecing bits together as there  are quite a few characters to watch out for, that said it is an easy read and flows well.

There are many twists and turns, some shockers and a lot of imagination provoking  in the story line itself, as I read this book part of me wondered is this real or is this part tickery? What is being portrayed here? (If you read it you’ll know what I mean) , the question marks that were raised in my mind are credit to the author’s well tuned creativity;  by the time I reached the end of the book, all questions I had were answered by the writing style of the author.

I read this book as part of my book club, the conversation went on and on between all members of the club who read the book. And while not everyone loved the book most of us did (and still do all these years later) reference it as one of the best books we’ve read as a club.

So that’s it just a short note from me, recommending The Night Circus  in response to today’s WordPress writing prompt. I hope  both hardcore fantasy/realism fans or fantasy genre virgins like yours truly, who need their cherry popping! Go download it, it’s a great introduction to the genre and a real page turner.

Enjoy!
